PLANT CITY, FL – January 17, 2026 – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that occurred on State Road 39, south of Moriczville Lane in Plant City, on Friday night at approximately 9:05 p.m.
A Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 77-year-old woman from Plant City, was traveling northbound on SR-39. A Nissan Versa, driven by a 19-year-old man from Plant City, was traveling southbound on SR-39. A Ford F-350, driven by a 32-year-old man from Plant City, was traveling northbound on SR-39 behind the Chevrolet Silverado.
The Chevrolet Silverado attempted to turn left into a private driveway and entered the path of the Nissan Versa. The Nissan Versa struck the Chevrolet Silverado. Upon impact, the Chevrolet Silverado rotated to the west shoulder, and the Nissan Versa rotated into the path of the Ford F-350. The Ford F-350 struck the Nissan Versa.
The 19-year-old driver of the Nissan Versa suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The 77-year-old driver of the Chevrolet Silverado suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The 32-year-old driver of the Ford F-350 suffered no injuries.
