Wednesday, January 14, 2026 -A fatal crash occurred at approximately 2:37 p.m. in Osceola County at State Road 60 and Peavine Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a semi tractor-trailer traveling westbound on State Road 60 west of Peavine Road failed to stop for traffic ahead and collided with the rear of a stopped 2024 Peterbilt semi tractor-trailer. This impact caused the front of the 2024 Peterbilt semi tractor-trailer to collide with the rear of a stopped 2025 Ford F-150 ahead of it.
The initial collision resulted in the semi tractor-trailer becoming fully engulfed in flames. Its driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver’s identity is pending confirmation by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
The driver of the 2024 Peterbilt semi tractor-trailer, a 48-year-old male from Eagle Lake, Florida, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Orlando Health Saint Cloud Hospital. He was wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the 2025 Ford F-150, a 33-year-old male from Mulberry, Florida, sustained no injuries and was not transported. He was wearing a seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation by Florida Highway Patrol. The roadway remains closed as of 8:30p.m.. Nothing further at this time.
