Haines City Man, 48, Fatally Stabbed Over Money Dispute in Lake Wales

Lake Wales, FL – November 10, 2025 – At approximately 10:30 a.m. on November 10, 2025, Lake Wales Police Department officers responded to a stabbing report at 309 West Bullard Avenue.

Officers found 48-year-old Ramiro Granados of Haines City with multiple stab wounds. They provided aid until medical personnel arrived. Granados was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead.

Detectives identified 28-year-old Jade Curtis of Lake Wales as the suspect. Curtis was located on Ruth Avenue and arrested without incident.

Curtis faces charges of:

  • First-Degree Premeditated Murder
  • Two counts of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon

The incident arose from a dispute over money owed to Curtis by Granados.

Curtis admitted confronting Granados on November 9, 2025, about the debt. He stated he fashioned a weapon by attaching a large kitchen knife to a wooden walking stick and kept it overnight.

On November 10, 2025, Curtis confronted Granados again. When payment was not received, Curtis stabbed Granados multiple times in the neck and head.
