Osceola County Man Charged in Deadly Shooting Over Teen Romance Dispute

Osceola County, FL — Sheriff Marcos R. Lopez announced the arrest of Orvill Osorio-Ortiz, 42, for a deadly shooting in St. Cloud sparked by a teen dispute over a girl.

On April 11, Osorio-Ortiz allegedly ambushed a group of five teens with a handgun, killing 19-year-old Nekko Hererra and wounding another, who is now stable after surgery.

Witnesses identified Osorio-Ortiz as the shooter, and evidence tied him to the scene. He was arrested Tuesday in Pasco County and faces charges of first-degree murder and four counts of attempted first-degree murder.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is still probing why Osorio-Ortiz, an adult, inserted himself into the teens’ conflict. Investigators are seeking additional witnesses to clarify his role and any ties to the victims.

The case remains under investigation, with authorities expecting more developments and possible additional arrests.
