Florida Woman Receives 15 Years for Manslaughter in Fentanyl Overdose

Lake County, FL – On October 16, 2025, Nicole Marie Davies (DOB: 04/13/1990), pleaded guilty to manslaughter in Circuit Court and was sentenced to 15 years in the Florida Department of Corrections.

On October 25, 2022, at approximately 3:20 a.m., Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies and Hernando County Fire Rescue responded to a residence on Piper Road in Spring Hill for a reported overdose. The victim, Sean O’Leary, was found unresponsive and was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

An autopsy determined the cause of death as combined drug toxicity involving methamphetamine and fentanyl. During the investigation, detectives found a clear baggie with white residue on O’Leary’s person, later confirmed by forensic testing to contain fentanyl.

Further investigation revealed that O’Leary had communicated with Davies regarding the purchase of illegal narcotics, including fentanyl, and that Davies delivered the narcotics to O’Leary at the time of the overdose. Based on collected evidence, detectives established probable cause for Davies’ arrest. Davies was taken into custody on March 11, 2024. Nothing further at this time.
