Tavares, FL — Robin Lynn Severance Lopez, 50, wife of suspended Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez, was arrested Monday morning in Harmony and booked into the Lake County jail. She faces a felony charge of conspiracy to use or invest proceeds from racketeering. Her bail has not been set.
Marcos Lopez has been held in the same jail since June 5 under a $1 million bond. He faces charges of racketeering and conspiracy to commit racketeering. Prosecutors allege Lopez was involved in a yearslong illegal casino enterprise in Lake and Osceola counties, pocketing cash from gambling operations and using funds for illegal campaign contributions.
Three co-defendants, Sheldon Wetherholt, Carol Cote, and Sharon Fedrick, have posted bail on similar charges. Another co-defendant, Ying Zhang, remains at large.
