Auburndale, FL – On March 21, 2025, at approximately 9:15 AM, a vehicle collided with an electric pole in Auburndale, leading to the closure of 590 Howard Rd. The Auburndale Police Department, Auburndale Fire Department, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, and TECO all responded to the scene.
The collision started a brief fire in a nearby tree, according to a witness, and sent a transformer crashing onto the ground. Emergency crews are working to remove the hazards.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the collision. Expect local delays. Nothing further at this time
