Lake County, FL – On May 5, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., a single-vehicle crash occurred on County Road 439 near Live Oak Ranch Road in Lake County, Florida. A 2020 Chevrolet Corvette, driven by a 28-year-old male from Belleview, Florida, was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed when it veered off the roadway to the right, went airborne, and struck a tree.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene. The next of kin has been notified. A 29-year-old male passenger from Crestview, Florida, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
The exact time and cause of the crash remain under investigation.
