Train vs. Pedestrian

Winter Haven, FL – Early this morning, a train collided with a pedestrian near W G Roe Park in Winter Haven. Authorities report the pedestrian is alert and expected to make a full recovery.
The incident has halted the train, blocking multiple railroad crossings, including Avenue R SW, Lake Shipp, and 15th Street to 26th Street. This is causing significant traffic disruptions in the area.
CSX is conducting an investigation, and it remains unclear how long the train will remain stationary. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid delays. Nothing further at this time.
