POLK CITY, FL– A section of Mount Olive Road in Polk City has been closed for roadway excavation and repair work, according to a press release from Polk County.
The closure affects through traffic on a portion of Mount Olive Road between Marker Road and Interstate 4 East. The road is expected to remain closed until the work is completed, with a projected reopening at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026.
Traffic detours are in place as follows:
- Vehicles traveling southeast on Mount Olive Road (west side of the closure) are rerouted northwest to State Road 33 North.
- Vehicles traveling west on Mount Olive Road (east side of the closure) are rerouted east to Berkley Road.
Residents and motorists are advised to plan alternative routes during the closure period.
