LAKELAND, FL — The Florida Department of Transportation announced upcoming lane closures and flagging operations along US 98 in Lakeland as part of the ongoing US 98 widening project between W Socrum Loop Road and County Road 54.
According to FDOT, periodic lane closures and flagging operations will take place on US 98 between W Socrum Loop Road and CR 54 from Tuesday, May 26, through Friday, May 29, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day.
Additional flagging operations are also scheduled at several intersections along the corridor. Motorists can expect intermittent traffic impacts at Keen Road and southbound US 98 on Tuesday, May 26, and Wednesday, May 27, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Flagging operations are also planned at Lakeland Acres Road and southbound US 98 on Thursday, May 28, and Friday, May 29, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution in the construction zone, expect delays, and allow extra travel time while crews complete roadway improvements associated with FDOT project 436673-1-52-01.
