The victim’s body was discovered by a hiker near Cypress Lake Preserve off Ridge Manor Boulevard around 9:35 a.m. on Thursday morning. Deputies report that the girl was killed with an edged weapon, though specific details about the weapon or the extent of her injuries have not been released. The sheriff’s office confirmed that the victim’s family has been notified and is receiving support during this tragic time. Authorities utilized social media to identify and track down the suspect, leading to his swift arrest.
