Haines City, FL — On Saturday evening, the Haines City Fire Department responded to a structure fire at Sonny’s BBQ on Highway 27. Fire crews accessed the roof and identified a heavy grease fire in the smoke stack, extending into the roof area.
The fire originated from a large rotisserie smoker connected to a natural gas line. The fire was extinguished within 10 minutes. All occupants evacuated safely, with no injuries reported among employees, bystanders, or fire personnel. The restaurant closed for the evening for cleanup and reopened the following day.
