Lakeland Man Arrested After Allegedly Striking Pregnant Victim with Coat Hanger: PCSO

JONATHAN SKINNER (DOB: 1/21/1999)

Lakeland, FL – On May 5, 2025, Polk County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jonathan Skinner following a domestic battery investigation according to the arrest report.

The incident occurred approximately a week and a half earlier at the Travel Lodge on 3425 Highway 98 North.

According to the arrest report, the victim, who was four months pregnant at the time, stated that Skinner became upset over text messages on her phone. The argument escalated into physical violence when Skinner allegedly grabbed her by her hair and upper arm, pulling her, and struck her on the back of her legs with a coat hanger. The victim reported that the acts were against her will. She was able to leave the hotel after contacting her mother.

Jonathan Skinner’s has a prior conviction for Domestic Violence Battery on September 14, 2022.

Based on the investigation authorities determined probable cause to charge Skinner with one count of Domestic Violence Aggravated Battery (Pregnant Victim). He was taken into custody. Nothing further at this time.
