Seminole County Substitute Teacher Arrested for Assaulting Nonverbal Student with Autism
A 27 year old substitute teacher, Jeffrey Jung, was arrested in Seminole County, Florida, on Monday after allegedly punching a nonverbal student with autism at Seminole High School.

According to an arrest affidavit, Jung struck the student in the ribs and arm, with witnesses reporting he angrily referenced another student’s nosebleed before the attack. Jung admitted to police he touched the student without reason and was charged with battery.

Jung, who had been a long-term substitute since August 2024, was booked into Seminole County Jail and released after posting $1,000 bond. Seminole County Schools confirmed Jung is no longer employed with the district, emphasizing that student safety is their top priority and that they are fully cooperating with law enforcement’s ongoing investigation.
