LAKELAND, FL — Ongoing construction along Interstate 4 between Galloway Road and U.S. 98 will continue to impact traffic this week as crews perform milling, resurfacing, and concrete slab rehabilitation, according to project details.
Contractors are actively working on roadway improvements, including guardrail and intelligent transportation system (ITS) upgrades.
Motorists can expect nighttime overnight single-lane closures from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., along with double-lane closures from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights. Drivers are advised to use caution, be prepared to merge, and allow extra travel time.

In addition, nighttime ramp closures are scheduled at the westbound on-ramp from U.S. 98 on Sunday, March 29, and possibly Tuesday, March 30. During these closures, drivers seeking westbound access to I-4 will be detoured to the eastbound entrance, exit at Kathleen Road, and re-enter westbound I-4.
Officials note that ramp closures will not occur on the same nights as mainline lane closures and will be conducted one at a time. Drivers should follow posted detour signs.
