Polk State Celebrates 100% Licensure Pass Rates Across All Seven Health Programs

WINTER HAVEN, FL — Polk State College announced that all seven of its Health Sciences and Nursing degree programs achieved a 100% licensure pass rate, highlighting the College’s success in preparing graduates for careers in healthcare.

Programs with perfect pass rates include Cardiovascular Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Nursing, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Paramedic, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiography, and Respiratory Care.

College President Dr. Angela Garcia Falconetti Kamoutsas said the achievement demonstrates the strength of Polk State’s instructors, curriculum and hands-on training while helping meet Polk County’s growing demand for healthcare professionals.

The College also said the upcoming Polk State Haines City-Davenport Campus, expected to open in January 2027, will expand Health Sciences programs and feature Central Florida’s first public higher education interdisciplinary simulation hospital, where students from multiple healthcare disciplines will train together in realistic clinical scenarios.

The expansion comes as Polk County’s population is projected to reach 1 million residents by 2030, increasing the need for healthcare workers. The State of Florida recently allocated $7.6 million to complete construction of the new campus.

Polk State Nursing was recently ranked No. 1 in Florida among comparable state college Associate in Science nursing programs. The College credits support from the State of Florida and healthcare partners, including AdventHealth, BayCare, Lakeland Regional Health and Orlando Health, for helping strengthen its healthcare education programs.
