The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting in Plant City that occurred on March 22, 2026.
At 4 a.m., the HCSO 911 Dispatch Center received a call reporting that an individual had been shot multiple times.
Deputies responded to the intersection of the westbound I-4 entrance ramp and Branch Forbes Road. An adult male with upper body trauma was located at the scene and pronounced deceased there.
Detectives are requesting that anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 813-247-8200.
Sheriff Chad Chronister stated: “Our detectives are working diligently to determine exactly what led to this shooting. We are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the area to come forward. Even the smallest detail could be critical in helping us bring answers to this case.”
The investigation remains active. All updates will be released by the Public Affairs Office.
