A fatal crash occurred on U.S. 192 (Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway) near Westside Boulevard, Kissimmee, involving a 2011 Ford Fusion and a pedestrian. The incident took place when the Ford Fusion, traveling eastbound in the inside lane, swerved to avoid a pedestrian walking northbound on U.S. 192, outside of a marked crosswalk. The vehicle struck the pedestrian, who was subsequently transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the medical center. The driver of the Ford Fusion remained at the scene and was not transported for medical treatment. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
