KISSIMMEE, FL– Osceola County unveiled its new mobile library unit, named OLLie (Osceola Library Link), on Wednesday at the Buenaventura Lakes Library.
The vehicle-based unit is designed to deliver library services, technology access, and educational resources directly to residents in underserved and growing areas of the county.
Features of the unit include:
- Solar-powered onboard generator
- Exterior awning and TV display for outdoor programming
- Interior equipped with five Chromebook laptops for technology tutoring
- Wi-Fi hotspots supporting up to 100 devices simultaneously
- On-site printing services
- Collections of books, games, toys, and materials available for checkout
Scheduled operations:
- Bi-monthly stops of 4–5 hours at locations including Holopaw and Oren Brown Park
- Additional regular stops planned at Fire Station 75 and Sunbridge
- Monthly partnership stops with local organizations
- Availability for community-requested visits to parks, events, and neighborhoods
The mobile unit will serve areas without nearby fixed library branches.
