Orlando, FL – In a story first reported by Jake Jordan from WFTV, several students from Winter Springs High School were hospitalized Saturday night after consuming alcohol at their prom held at SeaWorld Orlando, school officials confirmed.
According to an email from Principal Peter Gaffney, some students managed to sneak small containers of alcohol into the event, while others arrived already intoxicated.
The incident prompted swift action from school authorities, who identified those responsible, contacted their parents, and promised disciplinary measures in line with the student code of conduct. Despite the disruption, the prom continued as planned, with an increased police presence to prevent further incidents.
Officials have not released the exact number of students affected or the extent of their conditions, but the event has raised concerns about underage drinking and event security.
