Orlando, FL. — A 40-year-old man from Orlando died in a motorcycle crash early Saturday morning on the Florida Turnpike. The incident occurred at approximately 2:34 a.m. at mile marker 259 in Orange County.
The 2013 Victory Cross Country Tour motorcycle was traveling northbound on the Florida Turnpike, entering the express lanes for I-4. For unknown reasons, the rider lost control, was thrown from the motorcycle, and landed in the northbound travel lanes. The rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The rider was not wearing a helmet.
Next of kin have not been notified.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
