ZEPHYRHILLS, FL — A 69-year-old Lakeland man was among eight people arrested during a four-day undercover enforcement operation in Zephyrhills targeting human trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation, prostitution, and suspects seeking unlawful sexual contact with minors.
According to the Zephyrhills Police Department, Glenn Logan, 69, of Lakeland, was arrested and charged with traveling to meet a minor for sexual activity and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
The operation, conducted with assistance from the St. Petersburg Police Department, also resulted in arrests on charges including human trafficking, attempted human trafficking, traveling to meet a minor for sex, and soliciting prostitution.
Those arrested include:
Jorge Silva Montebello, 26, of Brazil: Human trafficking and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
Marvin Thornton, 41, of Tampa: Traveling to meet a minor for sexual activity, attempted human trafficking, unlawful use of a two-way communication device, and prohibited use of computer services.
Glenn Logan, 69, of Lakeland: Traveling to meet a minor for sexual activity and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
David Exantus, 32, of Tampa: Soliciting prostitution.
Kendall Freeman, 18, of Tampa: Soliciting prostitution.
Charles Derr, 32, of Dade City: Soliciting prostitution.
Destiny Rodriguez, 28, of Houston, Texas: Soliciting prostitution.
Sheila Gomez-Fontanez, 19, of Houston, Texas: Soliciting prostitution.
Zephyrhills Police Chief Derek Brewer said the operation reflects the department’s continued commitment to identifying individuals who exploit vulnerable people, attempt to engage in unlawful sexual activity with minors, or contribute to commercial sexual exploitation. He also thanked the St. Petersburg Police Department and the Tampa Bay Human Trafficking Task Force for their assistance.
