Lake County News Release:
LAKE COUNTY, Fla. (Nov. 9, 2025) – With temperatures expected to drop next week, Lake County will activate a shelter for those vulnerable to cold weather. The shelter, located at LifePointe Church (3551 E. Orange Ave., Eustis), will open at 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10. The County will determine the duration of operations based on weather conditions and will provide updates as needed.
Lake County Transit will provide free transportation to individuals who desire to travel to or from a Lake County Emergency Management-designated Cold Weather Shelter. Services will be available via a fixed route (LakeXpress), paratransit (Lake County Connection), and a cold-weather shelter shuttle (see the shuttle schedule below).

Morning Return Trips from Cold Weather Shelters
A Lake County Connection bus will pick up at 7:00 AM to transport citizens to the Ardice and Citizens Transfer Centers.
Weekdays, Route 1, 3, & 4 buses depart the Ardice Transfer Center at :38 after the hour, and Routes 1A, 1, & 2 buses depart the Citizens Transfer Center on the hour.
This bus will also transport citizens to the Clermont Park and Ride.
Citizens may travel for free on LakeXpress fixed route buses by telling the driver they are coming from a cold weather shelter.
