Riverview, FL – On August 15, 2025, at approximately 9 p.m., an individual entered the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office District II office and reported witnessing a homicide at a residence on Maybrook Avenue in Riverview, with the incident extending into Pinellas County.
Sheriff’s detectives initiated an investigation and contacted the St. Petersburg Police Department. A body was recovered near the Weedon Island Preserve off the Gandy Bridge in Pinellas County. Concurrently, detectives examined the Maybrook Avenue residence and found evidence indicating a crime had occurred.
The Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the body recovered in Pinellas County. The individual who reported the incident is cooperating with authorities. No arrests have been made in connection with the investigation.
