Sheriff’s Deputy SUV Collides with Motorcycle in Hillsborough County, Two Seriously Injured

Tampa, FL — A collision between a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office vehicle and a motorcycle left two people seriously injured early Tuesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash occurred around 1:25 a.m. at the intersection of Temple Terrace Highway (CR-580) and Avenue Club Drive.

FHP reports that a marked Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Chevy Tahoe, driven by a 24-year-old Tampa man, was traveling westbound on CR-580. As the deputy attempted a left turn at the intersection, the Tahoe crossed into the path of an eastbound Harley Davidson FXD motorcycle operated by a 30-year-old Seffner man. The motorcycle collided with the sheriff’s vehicle, ejecting both the motorcyclist and his passenger, a 20-year-old woman from Arkansas.

Both the motorcyclist and the passenger sustained serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital. The deputy was not injured.

The condition of the injured parties remains unknown at this time, per FHP.The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. Nothing further at this time.
