Tragic Death of 6-Year-Old Boy in Fort Pierce Prompts Murder Charge Against Mother
Fort Pier3, FL — An investigation is underway in St. Lucie County, Florida, following the death of a 6-year-old boy. The boy’s mother, Rhonda Palynice, has been charged with second degree murder in connection with the incident, which authorities say was driven by her belief that she was performing an exorcism.
Sheriff Richard Del Toro of the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office revealed that deputies were alerted to the situation after the boy’s school reported him absent for over two weeks. Upon arriving at the family’s home, investigators discovered the child’s body.

According to Sheriff Del Toro, Palynice claimed she was instructed by God to rid her son of demons. She reportedly believed that after the boy stopped moving and passed away, he had been “released” from the demons and would “come back.”
Authorities estimate the child may have been deceased since May 18, the last day Palynice said she spoke to her son. The investigation is ongoing as deputies work to uncover the full circumstances surrounding this tragic event.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information to come forward as they continue to seek justice for the young victim.
Nothing further at this time.
