Hernando County Man Sentenced to 15 Years for Child Pornography Possession
Brooksville, FL – On June 9, 2025, 34-year-old Mark Anthony Mazur pleaded guilty in Hernando County to sixteen counts of Possession of Child Pornography and one count of Unlawful Use of a Two-way Communications Device. Judge Stephen E. Toner sentenced Mazur to 15 years in the Florida Department of Corrections, followed by 10 years of Sexual Offender Probation.
The case began on December 23, 2024, when Hernando County Sheriff’s Office detectives executed a search warrant at Mazur’s residence. The warrant was issued following a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which reported that an account registered to Mazur contained child sexual abuse material.

During the search, Mazur confirmed he resided at the home and owned the social media account in question. He admitted to being aware of the illicit material on his account and stated he used his cell phone to access and save the content. A forensic examination of Mazur’s cell phone uncovered additional videos of child sexual abuse material, leading to his arrest. Nothing further at this time.
Assistant State Attorney Kasey Whitson prosecuted the case. Office of the State Attorney Office – Fifth Judicial Circuit of Florida
