On June 18, 2025, Brian Joseph Jankowski, 37, of Belleview, Florida, was sentenced to 10 years in the Florida Department of Corrections by Judge Peter M. Brigham after a jury found him guilty of Aggravated Stalking, Violation of Domestic Injunction with Two Prior Convictions, and Resisting Law Enforcement without Violence in Marion County. The sentence followed a review of Jankowski’s criminal history spanning over two decades.
The charges stem from an incident reported on June 21, 2024, when Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call regarding a violation of a domestic violence injunction. The victim reported that Jankowski had repeatedly contacted them, despite an active protective injunction. Evidence presented included a cell phone call log showing over 160 calls from a blocked number, with voicemails left by Jankowski, some pleading for the victim to answer and others containing harassing messages. The victim also stated that Jankowski had appeared at their residence multiple times in the days prior.
Deputies located Jankowski at his residence, where he attempted to flee on foot through the back door. He was apprehended and, during a post-Miranda interview, admitted to knowing about the injunction and contacting the victim. Jankowski was arrested and charged.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Lillian Rozsa and Certified Legal Intern Sandra Edwards under the Office of State Attorney William M. Gladson, Fifth Judicial Circuit, serving Marion, Lake, Citrus, Sumter, and Hernando Counties.
