


Flood Advisory Issued for Lake Wales, FL Amid Heavy Rainfall
Polk County, FL – A Flood Advisory is in effect for a portion of central Polk County, until 1:15 AM on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, as announced by the National Weather Service in Tampa.
Issued at 10:03 PM on Tuesday, May 27, the advisory follows Doppler radar reports of heavy rain from thunderstorms, with 3 to 5 inches of rain already fallen and an additional 1 to 2 inches expected. This rainfall is likely to cause urban and small stream flooding, leading to minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Affected locations include Lake Wales, Crooked Lake Park, Hillcrest Heights, Highland Park, Babson Park, Lake Wales Municipal Airport, and Waverly.
