SORRENTO, FL – According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a crash occurred at 6:05 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the intersection of State Road 46 (Sorrento Avenue) and 4th Street in Lake County.
A 2020 Chevy Silverado traveling westbound in the left turn lane attempted to turn into a parking lot, crossing into the path of a 2001 Yamaha motorcycle traveling eastbound. The front of the motorcycle collided with the Silverado.
The motorcyclist, a 65-year-old man from Sorrento, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Silverado driver was wearing a seatbelt, according to the FHP. The driver of the Silverado, a 49-year-old man from Apopka, was not injured and remained at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation. Nothing further at this time.
