Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash Leads to One Fatality and Serious Injuries on I-95

Brevard County, FL – On July 26, 2025, at 8:46 AM, a fatal crash occurred on Interstate 95 southbound at mile marker 230, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) press release. The incident involved three vehicles: a 2020 Toyota Tundra (V1), a 2020 Freightliner semi tractor-trailer (V2), and a 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class (V3).

V1, driven by a 74-year-old male from Fort Pierce, FL, was traveling southbound in the outside lane. V2, driven by a 29-year-old male from Columbus, OH, with a 22-year-old male passenger, was parked on the outside shoulder. V3, driven by a 74-year-old female from New Smyrna Beach, FL, was traveling southbound in the center lane. For unknown reasons, V1 veered off the roadway onto the outside shoulder, where its right front collided with the left rear of V2. The impact caused V1 to rotate clockwise in a southeast direction into the path of V3, striking it. Following this collision, V1 continued southeast and struck the median guardrail.

The driver of V1 was transported to Parrish Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. Next of kin have been notified. The driver and passenger of V2, both wearing seatbelts, sustained no injuries and remained at the scene. The driver of V3, also wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Parrish Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. No helmets were involved in the crash.

Trooper Wolff is the assigned crash investigator, and Corporal Mendez is the homicide investigator. The crash remains under investigation.
