Pierson, FL – According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a fatal crash occurred on July 3, 2025, at approximately 7:55 P.M. on State Road 11, north of State Road 40 in Pierson, Volusia County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
A 2020 Nissan Kicks was traveling southbound on SR-11, while a 2022 Chevy Silverado with a trailer was traveling northbound. A witness reported that the Nissan Kicks veered into the northbound lane, directly into the path of the Chevy Silverado, resulting in a head-on collision.
The driver of the Nissan Kicks, an adult male whose identity is pending confirmation, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Chevy Silverado, a 46-year-old male from Palm Coast, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Nissan was wearing a seatbelt, according to FHP. The investigation remains ongoing. Nothing further at this time.
