On June 30, 2025, at 10:05 PM, a fatal crash occurred on US-1 north of H H Burch Road in Volusia County, Florida.
A 2002 Chevy Silverado, driven by a 45-year-old male from Oak Hill, Florida, was traveling northbound in the outside lane. An adult male pedestrian was walking or standing in the northbound lane, directly in the path of the vehicle. The front of the Silverado struck the pedestrian.
The driver was not injured and remained at the scene. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on-scene. The Volusia County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to positively identify the deceased and will provide updates to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash remains under investigation by FHP. Nothing further at this time.
