Auburndale, FL – At 2:18 a.m., Auburndale Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire at a mobile home on Branch Lane off Recker Highway. Crews arrived at 2:22 a.m. and found the mobile home 50% engulfed in flames.
A primary search was conducted, and a dog was located inside but did not survive. One person was transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation. The Red Cross was contacted to assist residents.
The State Fire Marshal was notified as per protocol. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Crews cleared the scene at 4:25 a.m. Nothing further at this time.
