Disabled Man Robbed with Box Cutter in Auburndale; Suspect Arrested

Auburndale, FL – On Saturday, November 1st, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested 37-year-old Crystle Renee Rodgers following the alleged robbery of a disabled man.

At approximately 3:15 p.m., the victim reported being approached by an unknown female holding a box cutter on 2nd Street in Auburndale. The suspect demanded money, which the victim refused. She then pushed him down and took his wallet.

The suspect removed $55 in cash and a bank card before discarding the wallet. Prior to deactivation, the bank card was used for six fraudulent transactions totaling approximately $144.

Approximately one hour after the incident, PCSO deputies located Rodgers, who matched the suspect’s description. The victim positively identified her as the attacker.

Deputies recovered the bank card in the yard of a nearby residence.

Rodgers was transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center and charged with Robbery with a Weapon, Fraudulent Use of Personal ID, Felony Petit Theft, Tampering with Evidence, and Unlawful Possession of Personal ID.
