Construction Career Day Set for March 31 at Hillsborough County Fairgrounds

TAMPA BAY, FL — More than 1,500 students from across the Tampa Bay region will attend Construction Career Day on March 31 at the Hillsborough County Fairgrounds, according to a press release from Quest Corporation of America. The event is held in partnership with industry leaders and the Florida Department of Transportation.

The event is designed to connect students with professionals in construction, engineering, and transportation through hands-on experiences. Participants will engage in learning labs demonstrating construction techniques and technologies, explore career centers with employers and trade organizations, and view equipment displays showcasing tools used in the field.

FDOT, a sponsor of the event, will host a featured learning lab in partnership with ZooTampa. The exhibit will include a live gopher tortoise and box turtle, highlighting wildlife protection efforts tied to construction projects.

Organizers say the event aims to expose students to a wide range of career pathways, including skilled trades, engineering, project management, and communications, while emphasizing workforce development across Florida’s infrastructure sector.
