The City of Lake Wales has announced the launch of its new Spring Fridays Series, a lineup of family-friendly themed events to be held in Market Plaza in downtown Lake Wales.
The free events will feature music, entertainment, food, and additional activities, with more details to be shared on the city’s social media pages.
The series begins with the Moonlit Masquerade Party on Friday, February 6, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., celebrating Mardi Gras. The event will include live Zydeco-style music performed by the New Orleans Nighthawks. Additional highlights include a best masquerade-mask contest, entertainment, activities, carnival games, photo opportunities, a fire-breathing performer, and a juggling jester.
Complimentary masquerade masks will be available at select merchant locations on Park Avenue and Stuart Avenue. (Additional details on specific merchants are available through city announcements.)
Catered food options inspired by Cajun and Creole cuisine, along with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, will be available for purchase.
The Spring Fridays Series is presented by the City of Lake Wales in partnership with community organizations including the Lake Wales Arts Council, Lake Wales Main Street, Lake Wales History Museum, Lake Wales Little Theater, and The Thirsty Dragon.
