According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy involved shooting occurred near 20254 Gulf Boulevard in Indian Shores, Florida, leaving a suspect in critical condition.

The incident began around 1:29 a.m. when deputies stopped 65 year old Marina De Flippo for running a red light. De Flippo told deputies the CIA was after her before fleeing the scene. After failed attempts to stop her vehicle, including stop sticks and less-lethal measures, De Flippo waved a gun, rammed police vehicles, and continued driving. Deputies eventually used a PIT maneuver and opened fire, striking her multiple times. Seven deputies were involved, with one sustaining minor injuries.
De Flippo was hospitalized, and the Pinellas County Use of Deadly Force Investigative Task Force is now investigating. Gulf Boulevard remains closed between Walsingham Bridge and 197 Avenue East.
This is an active situation, and details may be subject to change as the investigation unfolds. Nothing further at this time
