Atala Counseling, a mental health practice based in Lakeland, Florida’s Dixieland neighborhood, announced a leadership transition.
Araceli Gauna-Scattolini has assumed the role of sole owner of Atala Counseling. The change positions the practice for continued growth while maintaining its established foundation.
Kathryn Dumont, the founder and former co-owner, led the practice for the past five years. She contributed to its culture through focus on stability, integrity, and client care. Dumont remains part of the team as a practicing counselor and continues to serve clients.
The practice’s mission remains unchanged: to provide compassionate, high-quality mental health care and to dismantle barriers for a healthier Lakeland community through connection.
Atala Counseling offers services for children (ages 5+), teens, adults, couples, and families. It operates with a team of clinicians and maintains collaborations with community partners.
As part of the transition, Atala Counseling introduced a preferred member rate for counseling services. This rate applies to members of the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce and their families.
Appointments for the preferred rate can be requested with members of the therapy team.
