Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Identifies Victim and Suspect in Fatal Stabbing
Tampa, FL – Yesterday evening, Sunday, June 8, at approximately 6:56 p.m., the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office received multiple 911 calls reporting a stabbing at Country Run Park on Pepperfield Drive.
Deputies responded and found two individuals, Alida M. Simmons, 73, and Manuel Gonzalez, 70, with stab wounds. Both were transported to a local hospital.
Simmons died from her injuries. Gonzalez, who remains hospitalized, has been charged with Premeditated First-Degree Murder with a Weapon and Armed Kidnapping.
The incident involved a dispute between the two individuals, which escalated to include a fatal stabbing and kidnapping.
