Tornado Tears Through Lake Mary, Florida, Causing Widespread Damage
LAKE MARY, FL. – A confirmed EF2 tornado with peak winds of 115 mph ripped through Lake Mary in Seminole County, Florida, early Monday morning, March 10, 2025, leaving a trail of destruction. The twister, which struck around 9:40 a.m., overturned a semi-truck, collapsed a home in nearby Longwood, and damaged the FOX 35 Orlando studios during a live broadcast.
Trees, power lines, and structures were toppled across the area, with emergency crews reporting no injuries despite the chaos. The National Weather Service confirmed the tornado’s strength, comparing its gusts to those of a Category 2 or 3 hurricane. Residents are urged to stay cautious as cleanup efforts begin amid ongoing severe weather threats in Central Florida.
