ZEPHYRHILLS, FL — A crash Friday morning in Zephyrhills resulted in the death of a 74-year-old bicyclist, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 7:45 a.m. on U.S. 301, north of Chancey Road. Troopers said a Ford F-150, driven by a 56-year-old Zephyrhills man, was exiting a gas station parking lot and attempting to turn right onto U.S. 301.
At the same time, the bicyclist was traveling northbound in the southbound bike lane when he entered the path of the truck and was struck. The bicyclist suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
