LAKELAND, FL — Watson Clinic Surgery Center South has officially celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the addition of a new outpatient surgical facility in Lakeland. The new facility is located at 4050 Lakeland Highlands Road, Lakeland, FL 33812.
According to hospital officials, the new 30,000-square-foot Surgery Center South is designed to provide convenient and cost-efficient same-day outpatient surgical procedures. The facility includes six operating rooms, six post-anesthesia care units and 20 pre- and post-surgery holding bays.
Procedures at the center may include general surgery, gynecology, hand surgery, orthopaedics, otolaryngology (ENT), plastic and reconstructive surgery, podiatry, urology and other specialties.
The new surgery center is part of Watson Clinic’s growing medical campus in south Lakeland. The campus also includes the four-story, 80,000-square-foot Watson Clinic Parkway Medical Center, which will house several medical specialties.
The campus is also home to the recently opened Orlando Health Watson Clinic Lakeland Highlands Hospital, a more than 300-bed inpatient hospital staffed by Watson Clinic physicians and providers. The expansion brings additional surgical, specialty and hospital services together within the growing Lakeland Highlands medical campus.
