KISSIMMEE, FL – The Kissimmee Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting of a 15-year-old male that occurred on July 23, 2026, in the area of the 1300 block of Oak Haven Drive, Kissimmee, FL.
At approximately 5:39 p.m., officers responded to the area in reference to a person who had been shot. Upon arrival, officers located a 15-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the left arm. The victim was transported by paramedics to Arnold Palmer Hospital in critical but stable condition. His condition has since improved, and he is recovering from his injuries.
Through the coordinated efforts of responding patrol officers and detectives, investigators quickly identified Yosber Capriles Barrios as the suspect responsible for the shooting. On July 24, 2026, Barrios was taken into custody and transported to the Osceola County Jail.
Barrios is charged with three counts of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has placed an immigration detainer on Barrios after determining he is in the United States illegally.
