Auburndale, FL – The Auburndale Police Department continues to investigate a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred on April 19, 2025, at approximately 5:50 p.m. at the intersection of Hwy 92 E and 1st Street. The crash involved a motorcycle and another vehicle, resulting in the death of motorcyclist Mark Anthony Williams, 47, of Auburndale.

According to the ongoing traffic homicide investigation, the driver of the other vehicle, who was alone and uninjured, was cited for an Improper Left Turn (“failing to yield – involving fatality”). At this time, no criminal charges have been filed against the driver.

The Auburndale Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit is seeking assistance from the public. Authorities are asking for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the area at the time of the crash to come forward. On April 19, 2025, at approximately 5:50 p.m., officers from the Auburndale Police Department responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle at the intersection of Hwy 92 E and 1st Street.
Upon arrival, officers located a motorcycle and its rider, Mark Anthony Williams (W/M, DOB: 09/14/1977) on the roadway. Polk County Fire Rescue personnel arrived and initiated life-saving measures.
Despite their efforts, Williams succumbed to his injuries sustained in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Polk County Fire Rescue. A traffic homicide investigation is underway.
