KISSIMMEE, FL – Osceola County Sheriff’s deputy shot an adult man early Wednesday morning after responding to a reported mental health crisis at a home in Kissimmee.

According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called just after 2:00 a.m. on July 8, 2026, to a residence in the 4700 block of Marcos Circle after receiving a 911 call about a family member experiencing a mental health crisis who was possibly armed with a weapon.

When a deputy arrived, a physical altercation occurred between the deputy and the adult male suspect. During the encounter, the deputy discharged their firearm, striking the suspect.

The suspect was airlifted to a hospital and was reported to be conscious and alert. The deputy was not injured, and no other injuries were reported.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is responding to the scene and will investigate the deputy-involved shooting. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said a media briefing will be held, but a time has not yet been announced. Stand by for updates.

UPDATE:
