OSCEOLA COUNTY, FL — The burn ban for unincorporated Osceola County has officially been lifted after county officials recorded seven consecutive days of improved drought conditions.
The burn ban, which had been in effect since June 8, was rescinded after the county’s average Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) showed favorable changes for seven straight days, meeting the requirements outlined in the county’s burn ban ordinance.
Although the burn ban has been lifted, officials are urging residents to continue using caution when burning outdoors. Safe practices are encouraged when conducting open burning, outdoor cooking, or discharging fireworks to help prevent accidental fires.
County officials remind residents that dry conditions can still pose a fire risk, and everyone should remain vigilant while enjoying outdoor activities.
For additional information about fire safety and current conditions, residents can visit the Osceola County Fire Rescue website.
