LAKELAND, FL – Avelo Airlines announced it has carried 300,000 passengers on over 2,000 flights from Lakeland International Airport (LAL) since beginning operations there in June 2024.
The airline serves nine destinations from LAL:
- Atlanta, Georgia (ATL)
- Charlotte / Concord, North Carolina (USA)
- Detroit, Michigan (DTW)
- Grand Rapids, Michigan (GRR)
- Nashville, Tennessee (BNA)
- New Haven, Connecticut (HVN)
- Philadelphia / Wilmington, Delaware (ILG)
- Rochester, New York (ROC)
- San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU)
Avelo reported strong operational performance at LAL, with a flight completion rate of 98.8% when excluding weather-related cancellations and an on-time arrival rate of 85.4%, measured by the Department of Transportation’s A14 standard of arriving within 15 minutes of the scheduled time.
Trevor Yealy, Avelo’s Head of Network and Revenue, said the milestone reflects the airline’s role in providing affordable, reliable, and convenient travel for Central Florida passengers and credited LAL-based crewmembers for their contribution to the achievement.
This milestone highlights Avelo’s growing presence in the Central Florida market and its continued expansion of travel options for the region.
