AUBURNDALE, FL — On Monday, March 23, 2026, at approximately 5:13 p.m., deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash at the intersection of US 92 and Bridgers Avenue.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, a black 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck collided with a black Schwinn mountain bike. The 44-year-old male bicyclist suffered head trauma and was transported to a hospital, where he was reported to be in critical but stable condition.
The bicyclist was traveling southbound on Bridgers Avenue, failed to stop at the stop sign, and entered the path of the truck. The victim was not wearing a helmet.
The investigation is ongoing. Nothing further at this time.
